Brandt's 1st Christmas--2009

This Christmas was a crazy one--but the best one yet!! It came a blizzard so our usual plans got changed. Wednesday night my Aunt Jan, cousins Kathy, her husband Ruben and their daughter Isabella came to visit on their way to move to Texas. It was great to see them b/c we haven't seen them in like 3 years!! Then on Christmas Eve, my aunt and uncle and cousins that we always spend it with couldn't come b/c of the weather so our friends Dustin and Jen came over and Dustin and Caleb went sledding on with my dads 4-wheeler. On Christmas Day we woke up at my parents house and opened presents--Brandt didn't care one thing about his presents, all he wanted to play with is the cell phones and the laptop and everything else he wasn't supposed to have..haha. On Saturday my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Kenneth and my cousins Kristen, Coulter, and Cooper finally got to come from OKC to have our Christmas with them. Now today we are having Christmas over at Caleb's mom's house--so 5 total Christmas'--CRAZY!! But it was all wonderful! Brandt had a blast playing with all the little kids and we all got such great gifts! And the snow definitely made it all a Christmas that we will never forget!!

Brandt--9 months old

I can't believe my baby is 9 months old! Lets see--whats new with us. Well we just got a new car Dec. 4th. Its awesome! Its a 2010 black GMC Terrain. Its got flip up DVD players in both the backseat headrests so that will be so nice for long trips for Brandt to watch. I love it! Next week is going to be very busy--work Christmas party on Tuesday night, Brandt's 9 mo well check on Thursday morning and Caleb's open house at his work on Thursday afternoon, and we are leaving bright and early on Friday morning to go to Missouri to visit Lauren, Nate and Aiden and staying until Monday. I can't wait to see them! I feel like a total scrooge--we didn't put any lights up and we didn't even put a tree up this year. I figured it would just be something else that he would get into, and besides my parents have one at their house and thats where we are doing Christmas anyways. We will do all of it next year though but Im sure Brandt could care less this year anyway. Im looking forward to Christmas but can't stand the cold weather--can't wait for the summer so we can go to the beach!!

Brandt's 1st Thanksgiving--09

We had Thanksgiving at my parents house. Brandt actually ate some "real" food. He wasn't so sure about some of it but he sure did like the macaroni. He is 8 1/2 months old now and can do so many new things. These pictures are of the first time he ate meat. Man that stuff stinks! He seems to like it pretty well though. He is saying "Momma" now (especially when he is mad). He can pull himself up to stand and walk around his playpen and crib holding on to the edges. I can't believe how fast he is growing up! It's sad and fun all at the same time. We got him a forward facing carseat and he loves it! He likes being able to see where we are going and we like that we can see him alot better now. He has two bottom teeth now--they popped through at the same time, which was no fun for him I'm sure. About that same time he stopped wanting to sleep in his crib and so now he won't sleep unless he is in the bed with us. I know its not the best thing in the world but if thats what we have to do so we can all get some sleep then thats what we are gonna do! Plus its the sweetest thing in the whole world when he snuggles up to me! He likes to sleep late. He goes to bed around 9 p.m. usually and sleeps until about 8 a.m. sometimes even 9! which is amazing since I don't have to be at work until noon everyday except Mondays. We went to OKC the weekend before Thanksgiving to meet Holly and Chris' baby Theo--he is so precious! Brandt loved him!

We had our pictures taken by Ashley Thomas of Aspen Blue Photography. She was the same girl who took my maternity pictures. Brandt's teeth were hurting him this day so he didn't want to smile in any of them but he was trooper. I think they turned out great!

Halloween 2009

Brandt was a spider for Halloween this year. We just took him over to a couple of my moms friends house so they could see him and we took him to the mall to have his picture taken. He didn't have a problem wearing the costume but by the end of the night he was worn out!

September 09--Brandt & Aiden meet!

Its been forever since I updated this thing--Ive got lot's of catching up to do. I left off when Lauren and Aiden were about to come visit and meet Brandt for the first time. We had a blast!! It was the cutest thing ever watching Brandt and Aiden play! Brandt was about 6 months old and Aiden was 7 months old at the time so they were just starting to crawl around. We are about to get to go visit them in Missouri December 18th so I can't wait to get them together again! I just wish we didn't live so far away from each other!

1 year Anniversary!

As of August 26, 2009 Caleb and I have been married a year already! Time has flown by but definitely has been the best year of my life without a doubt. I have a wonderful supportive husband, amazing little boy and an awesome family. Who could ask for more? We didn't really do much for our anniversary but I did get us tickets for OU's first home game on September 12 so I figure that can be for our anniversary. Brandt is learning so many new things everyday! I can hardly believe that he is almost 6 months old already! He is sitting up by himself now so good. He is trying his hardest to crawl but can't quite get the arms figured out yet. Need to do some baby proofing before that happens for sure! My best friend from Missouri is coming to visit on Friday with her husband and their new baby that Ive never got to meet yet so I am soooo excited to get him and Brandt together finally and take some pictures!!

On my Birthday this year we had Brandt's pictures taken by Jennifer Parker. She has been taking pictures of me throughout the years since I was 9 years old so we decided to ask her to take some of Brandt too. They turned out amazing!

4th of July!

For the 4th of July this year Caleb and I just had a cookout at our house because Caleb just got done building a new deck in our backyard..it looks so good! We had my parents and Caleb's mom over and cooked for them instead of the other way around like usual..lol. The fireworks that Duncan usually does every year were cancelled because their was a storm so we didn't get to see any. But we went to the Merrill's annual firework party the following weekend and Brandt got to see some there--it was a blast and he actually even liked the fireworks!

Brandt Caleb Stocking

On July 12, 2008 we found out we were going to have a baby! Then we found out we were having a boy on October 31, 2008. I know Caleb was excited about the boy part because he just knew it was going to be a girl. I had a really easy pregnancy--was hardly ever even sick thank goodness. Then on March 15, 2009, after 17 hours of labor which ended in a c-section, our beautiful baby boy was born. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. I never knew I could love something so much! Caleb is such a good dad--he changes diapers without me even having to ask him! I went back to work part time about 6 weeks after having him. Brandt stays with my mom while I'm at work so I was glad I didn't have to take him to a daycare yet. I love being a mom--its so much fun...exhausting...but fun..lol. He is sleeping through the night now which is awesome, and he can also roll over and laugh out loud now. He just started making these loud squealing noises all the time like he is trying to tell us something so bad--its hilarious! Its amazing how much he changes everyday!

How we met

I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK in May 2007. I moved back to Duncan and bought a house. I never dreamed that I would ever move back here but it has been great being closer to my parents, especially now that I have a baby! I started hanging out with one of Caleb's friends not knowing that he and Caleb lived together. Caleb was actually my boyfriend in middle school so we already knew each other, we just had not seen each other in years. I went over to their apartment one night and saw Caleb and from then on we just started dating. Funny how stuff works out. We ended up getting married on August 26, 2008 and went to New York City on our honeymoon which was awesome! I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful husband!

First Blog Post

I'm new at this so it's definitely going to take some getting used to..lol. I kind of stole this idea from another girl I saw doing this so her extended family could keep track of what everybody was doing--kind of like an "update" Christmas letter. I thought it was a good idea since Caleb and I have family that we don't get to see very often--this way they can see pictures of Brandt and get updates of all the new stuff he can do. So hopefully I can keep up with this!
